Painting stripes on walls without the right tool is a difficult task. Whether you paint a single accent edge on a wall or multiple stripes fill it, make sure the lines are straight and even. Even the slightest imperfection can result in obvious flaws. Fortunately, modern laser levels make the task a lot easier; turning a job that once was the domain of professionals in something you can do yourself.

Instructions

Set a laser on a table or stand. Turn on the laser and aim where you want a side of your edge. Calibrate the laser so that the bubble in the attached hose is between the two lines. Painting stripes on walls is the same technology that you’ll find in traditional levels, and will ensure that the laser line is completely vertical or horizontal. Apply adhesive target tape to the wall, following the laser line. Move the laser line to the position of the other side of the edge. Calibrate it as needed and tap this line as well.

Painting stripes on walls with apply a layer of primer between tire lines with a brush or roller. Allow the primer to dry. Paint the space between tire lines with a brush or roller. Allow the paint to dry, and then apply a second layer if necessary. Gently pull the tape from the walls when the paint has dried. Repeat this process for each edge.
